Hi,
My name is Helmut, and I’m the dude writing GreenhouseBuddy.com
By profession, I work in IT — a world of electronic machines. But outside of virtual reality, I do something much more rewarding: growing plants and food.
What started as simple curiosity has turned into a hands-on journey of experimenting with greens in every space I have — from my apartment windowsill and balcony to greenhouses and open fields.

I wouldn’t call myself a professional gardener. I didn’t grow up with decades of inherited knowledge or agronomical training.
Most of what I know comes from doing — trying, adjusting, failing, and trying again.
I’ve watched plenty of YouTube videos and read guides along the way, but the real learning has always come from getting my hands dirty and seeing what actually works in real conditions.

And believe me, I enjoy experimenting with all kinds of seeds and growing methods.
I’ve grown plants from standard seed packets you can find in any supermarket, but I’ve also taken seeds straight from grocery store vegetables just to see what happens.

Sometimes it works surprisingly well — sometimes not — but that’s part of the endless curiosity and excitement about what and how you can grow…
One of the things I find most exciting is how resilient plants can be. I’ve had tomatoes grow almost completely on their own, with little to no care, proving that nature often knows exactly what it’s doing.
These small “experiments” constantly challenge what I thought I knew about growing food.

GreenhouseBuddy is where I share these experiences — not as strict rules, but as real-life observations.
My goal isn’t to present gardening as something complicated or intimidating, but to show that anyone can start growing, even in small spaces like an apartment or balcony.

If you’re curious about growing your own food, experimenting with seeds, or just seeing what happens when you try something new — you’re in the right place.

So never give up, and let’s grow something together!
